The trial of the pastor and foreman from the church in Kumanovo, Macedonia has finally begun and ran for a day on 26th October. The next date for the trial to continue will be 9th November.
Please join us in praying for the men facing trial - that God's will be done and that justice will be done. Please also pray for their families during this difficult time.
At the Eurovangelism's 40th Anniversary Conference in November, we had the privilege of hearing Dr Paul Negrut (from Romania) preach a sermon based on Exodus 17:8-16. The response of those at the conference was tremendous, and this Prayer Blog hopes to capture some of the heart of this message:
The Amalekites came to attack the Israelites and Moses stood on top of the hill holding his hands up. Whenever Moses held his hands up, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. Into the equation step Aaron and Hur, who come along to provide support for Moses and keep his hands steady until victory is achieved!
What is the lesson for us? When our partners go into the valley to fight for Christianity in the spiritual wasteland of Eastern Europe, they need somebody on the mountaintop to pray for their victory. Going in to the valley with nobody on the mountaintop could prove very risky and it is thus a key strategy for us in the UK to be praying constantly for our partners. In this way, as our partners stride out in the name of Jesus, great things will be able to be achieved to God’s glory!
