Pray for 3E teams

A team from St Michael's Church, Stoke Gifford in Bristol are currently in Moldova, until 12th April, helping and supporting our partners there. Please pray for health and safety for the team in all that they do and that they will be a great encouragement to our partners.

Also, from 10th to 17th April a team from Pip 'n' Jay church in Bristol will be in Bulgaria helping with practical work needing to be done on Mission Possible's Broken Heart Refuge. Please pray for this team for health and safety and that they may be a great help to Mission Possible during their time there.

Project Romanian Rescue - licensing and premises

PRR (Project Romanian Rescue) who provide shelter and homes for street children, have asked us to pray for them as they prepare for the new organisational requirement of licensing. This is something that is in addition to accreditation. Please pray that PRR will continue to have favour with the authorities and that they will meet the licensing requirements without any difficulties.

Also, PRR are seeking to rent premises in Constanta in which to run a day centre and offices. Please pray for them as they search for this.

Flooding in Albania - continuing help

Mission Possible in Albania continue to help families in villages in the north west of Albania which have been seriously affected by the recent flooding. Some villages have been flooded several times. One result of this has been that the villagers' water wells were flooded too and the water in them became filthy and unfit for use as drinking and cooking water.

Mission Possible helped deliver emergency supplies of bottled water to those who could not be reached easily. Many villagers had to resort to getting around by boat or by horse.

Please pray for Mission Possible's work with these people, many of whom have suffered damaged homes, lost crops and animals and belongings. Pray that the love of God may be shared with these people as they are given practical help and support.

Russia - need for a new car

Our partner Sergey Obydenniy from the town of Prokhladny in the Kabardino-Balkaria Republic in Russia has told us how their church wants to develop their missionary ministry. This, of course, involves a lot of travelling. The Missionary Committee has a car, but it is 31 years old and frequently breaks down. The church cannot afford to purchase one themselves so they are looking to God for this need.

Please pray for the ministry of the church in Prokhladny as it seeks to reach out to those around them who do not know Christ yet. Please also ask God if He will enable the Missionary Committee to obtain a newer, reliable car to enable them to carry out this work.

Emanuel Hospice - accreditation obtained

Thank you for praying with us for Emanuel Hospice, which obtained the necessary accreditation for its social and medical services in February.

Please continue to pray for the Hospice as Director, Marinela Murg seeks a suitable piece of land on which to extend the Hospice's services to include a day centre.

Please also pray that a doctor may be found who is willing to be involved long-term with the Hospice's work and who can be employed full time.

Sombor, Serbia special needs retreat

Our partners Greg and Jelena Sivulka in Sombor are helping to plan a retreat for early April for families with children with special needs. They are expecting about 14 families and a number of these will not be Christians.

Please pray with us for Greg and Jelena, that all of the preparation will go well and that the retreat next month will be a source of encouragement and hope to those families, particularly any who are really struggling.

Please pray too for Greg and Jelena and their children. Their daughter Hana has special needs and they have recently come through a difficult time helping her. Please pray that the family may now enjoy a time of greater peace and that Hana may, once again, make progress.

Alpha training in Turkey

Earlier this month, two members of the Eurovangelism team helped run the first ever Alpha training for church leaders in Turkey. They were delighted that attendance was higher than they had expected and as a result two Alpha courses will be organised to run in Istanbul in the near future.

Please join us in praying for these courses, that they may be well run and that they will be able to clearly and effectively communicate the gospel to those who attend.It is hoped that there will be further training for leaders in other Turkish cities and that those who have been trained will encourage other church leaders to plan an Alpha course.

Pray that many people will be encouraged to attend the new Alpha courses and that lives will be changed as they come to know Christ. Pray too for safety for those who become Christians, particularly those who were Muslims, because this can result in ostracism by family members and losing ones job and livelihood.

Vance and Tanja Golomeov in Macedonia

Our partner Vance Golomeov in Stip, Macedonia has asked if we will pray about the ongoing back problems he has been suffering from for some time.

Vance has been in a lot of pain and discomfort, which has been affecting his ability to do his work. Please ask God if He will free Vance from this problem and give him wisdom as he seeks possible further medical advise.

Please also pray for his wife Tanja, who has recently had a baby.

Vance and Tanja live with their two young children and his mother in a small apartment and this can result in considerable stress at times. Please pray about this situation; ask God if He will bring a breakthrough in this and also heal Vance of his painful back condition.

Emanuel Hospice, Oradea, Romania

Please pray for Emanuel Hospice for the following items:

Firstly, pray for wisdom for Raelene Soritau, who is working to establish and develop the volunteer service at the Hospice.

Secondly, the Hospice in currently undergoing a re-accreditation process as a provider of medical and social services. Please pray about this process as two teams from the social and medical authorities will be evaluating the work of the Hospice in the next few weeks.

Flooding in Albania

An area in North West Albania has been badly hit by flooding. It has affected the main city in the north, Shkoder, and the surrounding region. More than 2,400 houses have been flooded; many families have lost everything, including their animals and the produce they were growing. The effects of this will continue for a long time after the flooding itself has been forgotten about.

Please pray for our partners Mission Possible in Albania and their director Besa Shapllo as they seek to help. They need funds to enable them to buy the clothing, blankets and food needed. Pray for wisdom for Besa and Mission Possible and that Mission Possible's supporters will give generously.

Alpha course in Novi Sad

Danny and Vera Kuranji in Novi Sad, Serbia have just started a new Alpha course and have been surprised and delighted by the 140 people who have signed up to do it. These include ladies who attended a pre-Christmas outreach which generated a lot of interest and family members of those who have been through the drug rehabilitation programme run in Novi Sad.

Please support Danny and Vera in prayer as they meet this challenge and use this opportunity to share the good news about Jesus with so many people. We pray that this course will be life-changing for many.

Prayer for Slavko Hadzic in Bosnia

Please pray with us for our partner Slavko Hadzic and his family in Bosnia.

Slavko has been suffering from some kidney problems and has just been told, unexpectedly, that he needs chemotherapy urgently. He will begin this on Monday 25th January and it will be ongoing for several months.

Please pray that this treatment will have the desired effect and, in due course, bring Slavko back to health and strength. Pray for him as he copes with any side effects. Please also pray for his family and church at this time.

Trial in Macedonia - update

The trial in Macedonia, which was due to resume last Thursday, 14th January, has been postponed once again. The next session is now due to be held on Monday 22nd February.

Please continue to pray for the two men facing trial. Please also lift up to God their families and their church.

Project Romanian Rescue

Like many of our partners, Project Romanian Rescue, who provide care and homes for street children, have had a difficult last year. They had a number of financial crises throughout the year; God was faithful to them and provided for their needs, but they would love to have less crises and more regular sources of support. Please join us in praying that there might be a breakthrough this year in the provision of funds for PRR so that less time and energy will be taken up with urgent financial needs.

Please pray for Marian and Marcel who are overseeing the administration of PRR and also spearheading renewal and growth in the street ministry.

Slavko Hadzic in Bosnia

Slavko Hadzic's fellowship in Sarajevo have sent us details of some of their planned events for the new year, which it would be good to pray with them for:

On December 29th their team who put on puppet shows will be holding two shows for children in Dobrinja, a neighbourhood of Sarajevo. Also, on January 4th and 5th the puppet team will be holding six shows for the children of Slavko's own church; they expect 200 children and 50 parents to attend. Please pray that these events may be effectively run and will be a means of reaching out to tell many people about the love of God.

In February Slavko's church are planning to start a marriage course for couples from the church and also for friends who are not Christians. Again, please pray for the preparation of these events and pray that many who are not Christians will feel able to attend and learn more.

Drug rehabilitation centre in Novi Sad, Serbia

We give thanks for news from Danny and Vera Kuranji as they celebrate their first year since they set up the drug rehabilitation centre in Novi Sad. Many lives have been changed through people coming to the centre and meeting with Jesus.

There are currently nine young men going through the programme. Please pray that in due course each person may meet with Jesus and have a life that is changed. Also, pray that those who have gone through the programme may continue to walk with Jesus and live a life free of drugs.

We are thankful to God for all He has enabled Danny and Vera to achieve through this ministry. We pray that He will continue to guide them and supply their needs through the next year.

Danijel and Eva Mrsic, Split, Croatia

Our partners Danijel and Eva have asked us to pray for several activities they and their church are involved in.

The church has been working on developing a piece of land they bought and building a house on it so that they can hold Focus summer camps for children. After a lot of hard work a Focus camp worker will soon be moving into the house. Please pray for this project, that the house and grounds will be a means of reaching out to many children and their families with the good news about Jesus.

Also, Danijel and Eva's church will begin another Alpha course in January. Please pray as this course is prepared and ask God to send new people along to take part in the course and learn about Jesus.

Pray for the trial in Macedonia

We have heard that the next session of the trial of Pastor Sasho and Sime the works foreman in Kumanovo, Macedonia is due to be held on 14th January 2010.

Please join us in praying for these two people and their families as they patiently await each stage of this process. Pray that they may know the peace of God during this Christmas period and that when the trial resumes justice will be done.

Soup kitchens in Bulgaria

Mission Possible in Bulgaria plan to run five soup kitchens throughout the winter to provide hot meals for around 250 gypsy children, who would otherwise be reduced to rummaging through rubbish to find scraps of food.

Last year Mission Possible struggled to find funds to keep all the soup kitchens open they wanted to run. Please join us in praying that this year funds will be forthcoming to enable all five soup kitchens to run throughout the winter months. Please also pray for those who staff the soup kitchens and care for the children.

Emanuel Hospice, Romania - plans for the future

Marinela Murg, Director of Emanuel Hospice has asked us to pray with them for God's guidance with regard to the further development of the Hospice. They are asking God to provide them with a piece of land suitable for building a day centre on and would also like to be able to provide a small bedded unit for patients in the future.

Please lift up these plans to God. Ask him to guide Marinela as she meets with the local authorities to discuss these possible developments.

Missions in Moldova

Please pray this week for missions that will be taking place from 4th - 8th November in most of the Baptist churches in the south of Moldova, including Mark McCormick's church in Gotesti. At the end of the week there will be a baptism meeting in Gotesti on Sunday 8th November. Please pray with us that many lives will be touched by the gospel during this week.

Trial in Macedonia

The trial of the pastor and foreman from the church in Kumanovo, Macedonia has finally begun and ran for a day on 26th October. The next date for the trial to continue will be 9th November.

Please join us in praying for the men facing trial - that God's will be done and that justice will be done. Please also pray for their families during this difficult time.

Prayer for the church in Turkey

Please join us in praying for the members of the church we have contact with in Turkey. Being a witnessing Christian there involves great potential cost. A member of the church was recently threatened with a knife but thankfully escaped serious injury.

Please ask God to protect the pastor of the church and the church members as they live out their faith and share the gospel.

On a happier note, in September two newcomers to the church are scheduled to be baptised. Please pray for these two men in their preparations for baptism and ask God to strengthen and encourage them in their new faith and to keep them safe.

Project Romanian Rescue

Project Romanian Rescue (PRR), who provide homes for street children in Romania, are grateful for all those who have been praying for them. They have had financial struggles for some time but have seen God provide in these times.

They have asked us to pray that they may have less of these financial emergencies and more regular income.

Also, a key member of their staff, Camelia Vilcoci (Cami) will be getting married in September and leaving to live in Timisoara. This will make a big impact on PRR as Cami has worked with them for many years. Please join us in praying for PRR as they prepare for this change. Please pray too for Cami as she prepares for this time of change.
