SPONSOR A FOOD PARCEL
Changed for 2009 - No “Fill a Box” Option
In many of the countries we help, like Moldova where Corinna lives, we cannot send food parcels due to the restrictive customs regulations. In addition, more and more of our partners have requested funds rather than physical food parcels so they can tailor the food they give to meet the needs of their community.
Finally rising fuel and haulage costs mean it is increasingly uneconomic to collect and send food parcels from the UK. We wish to thank all our supporters, who over the last 16 years have made it possible for us to send hundreds of thousands of food parcels to those living in poverty in Eastern Europe.
We do hope that you will continue to support Harvest for the Hungry, as the needs remain as great as ever and there are many advantages to sponsoring a food parcel.
How to help
The best way to help Corinna and her family is by sponsoring a food parcel. Each gift of £10 enables our partners to buy a food parcel locally. This supports the local economy, reduces emissions and transport costs, and allows our partners to buy meat and other goods that we cannot send from the UK.
Providing help this way allows our partners to carefully choose the food they will buy in order to meet the specific needs of their community. It also means they can continue to provide help throughout the winter because they do not have the problem of finding the space to store hundreds of boxes.
Working from lists, often provided by the overwhelmed local authorities, they deliver the food to those in need regardless of race, religion or background.
No strings attached.
