Homeless Child in Romania

Project Romanian Rescue (PRR), based in Southern Romania, provide children living on the streets with shelter, food, warm clothes and, above all, care and attention. There are an alarming number of children living on the streets and many are now reaching an age where they are parenting a new generation of street babies. Without the support of PRR these young children would literally have nothing. Harrowing stories of children losing toes through frostbite and others becoming reliant on drugs to cope with the horrors of homelessness have fuelled PRR’s compassion for these vulnerable children.

The worldwide financial crisis has hit PRR hard and the economic struggles in Romania are very severe. To house, feed, clothe and support so many young children obviously costs a huge amount of money. We are unashamedly asking you all to donate much needed finances to support PRR in preparation for the coming winter winter. Along with your money PRR are also requesting that you pray.

  • Please pray for a young boy called Andrei who has joined the home this week (May 2010), praise God that he is now in a safe place but pray that he will settle, make friends and feel at home there.
  • Pray that the desperate financial situation will be alleviated and that each and every child they meet can be looked after.

Last winter PRR were able to distribute winter jackets, thick socks, good quality shoes and woolly hats thanks to donations from  Eurovangelism and their supporters. All of the PRR team wanted to say a huge thank you to everybody who contributed. Many of the children and young adults living on the streets were overwhelmed with joy to receive the new clothes.
