Alpha in Montenegro

Jovica Bacvanski, our partner in Montenegro, has just emailed us because he is feeling very discouraged following their recent Alpha course. (Jovica is pictured above left, at a recent baptism for the church.)

Jovica asks for prayer and states "Please pray for us. We need wisdom what to do about next Alpha, and when to start it, and finally how to do it."

Please also pray that Jovica and the church will be encouraged and strengthened as they continue to work for God's Kingdom.

Prayer Request from Bosnia

Pastor Slavko Hadzic, Eurovangelism partner in Sarajevo, Bosnia, writes:

"
ALPHA
In December we finished our second Alpha course on which we had 15 participants, of which 6 were unbelievers. All six attended the course regularly, and one of them is a believer today. The rest come to church from time to time, and we need to continue to pray for their salvation. You can also pray for the next Alpha Course, which we are planning to start in September.

CAMP
We are planning our local church camp, which will be held on Jahorina mountain August 1st-5th. Thirty people will go to camp, of which a few a unbelievers. Pray for the salvation of the unbelievers who will be with us, and also that we will have a good time of fellowship with one another and with the Lord.

EVANGELISM
From August 10-20th, one brother and two sisters from Romania will come to help us with street evangelism. In those 10 days, we are planning to go onto the streets of town, preach the gospel and invite people to evening meetings. Every evening we will have teaching for believers (we are planning to invite believers from other churches in BiH), and after that and evangelization meeting for unbelievers. Pray for many people to respond to our invitation, to give their life to Christ, and also pray for God’s protection over us."

PRR (Street Kids Organisation) in Constanta, Romania

Daniel Mercado (pictured above left, with former street kid (centre) and co-worker Cami), who heads the charity 'PRR' in Constanta that cares for street kids and young adults, writes:

"We have several urgent prayer needs.

I would ask that you please invest some time in intercession for one or more of the following needs:

1. After much, much work on our part, the inspectors are coming tomorrow (Wed. 7 June) for our accreditation inspection. This involves verifying a lot of documentation as well as other things. PRAY for continued favor with the authorities, that this goes well and that we will receive our re-accreditation. It is much harder than it used to be but I understand now organizations like us will be accredited for 3 years instead of struggling with this annually.
(Eurovangelism note: Accreditation is needed in Romania to be able to function legally as a charity)

2. We critically need two new staff persons NOW, a social worker/secretary and a multi-task/maintenance person. PLEASE PRAY for the Lord to send the right persons as we actively seek to fill these positions. Cami and Marian especially are overworked and nearing burnout because of not yet having these two needed workers.

3. We need a financial BREAKTHROUGH. Since the loss of hard currency against local Romanian currency in 2004, our spending power (figuring the same annual income in hard currency) has dropped to about HALF of what it is. This is a critical situation - pray for a miracle breakthrough!"

Thank you for your prayers!
