Daniel Mercado (pictured above left, with former street kid (centre) and co-worker Cami), who heads the charity 'PRR' in Constanta that cares for street kids and young adults, writes:
"We have several urgent prayer needs.
I would ask that you please invest some time in intercession for one or more of the following needs:
1. After much, much work on our part, the inspectors are coming tomorrow (Wed. 7 June) for our accreditation inspection. This involves verifying a lot of documentation as well as other things. PRAY for continued favor with the authorities, that this goes well and that we will receive our re-accreditation. It is much harder than it used to be but I understand now organizations like us will be accredited for 3 years instead of struggling with this annually.
(Eurovangelism note: Accreditation is needed in Romania to be able to function legally as a charity)
2. We critically need two new staff persons NOW, a social worker/secretary and a multi-task/maintenance person. PLEASE PRAY for the Lord to send the right persons as we actively seek to fill these positions. Cami and Marian especially are overworked and nearing burnout because of not yet having these two needed workers.
3. We need a financial BREAKTHROUGH. Since the loss of hard currency against local Romanian currency in 2004, our spending power (figuring the same annual income in hard currency) has dropped to about HALF of what it is. This is a critical situation - pray for a miracle breakthrough!"
Thank you for your prayers!
