Mission Possible, Albania

Ledia Ikonomi, Editor of the Mission Possible Children's "Miracle Magazine" and helper in the various projects being run in Bathore, Tirana, asks for the following prayer items:
- a successful completion of the first phase of our project in Bathore.
- that the team in the Bathore centre may be an example of Christ and that they may come up with effective ideas to reach people.
- all of our teachers and children of the Miracle Clubs. May God bless them in every activity celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.
- our other projects in the office.
- our food program that it may be a good tool to reach new people for Christ.
- the Miracle Magazine, that it may shine like a little light in the hearts of the kids.
- the Church in Bathore (pictured above). It’s a young church and it needs to grow in the Lord. Pray that men will also become part of the body of Christ in Bathore.
- the new Alpha courses that are about to start next month in Bathore.

Thank you!

Prayer Request from the new country of Montenegro

Jovica Bacvanski (pictured above praying for new church members), Pastor of the Evangelical Church of Montenegro writes:

A new family came to church with a 5 year old boy who was born with a cancer in his mouth. It is so sad to see him, and mother and father are desperate, looking at us as the only hope.

We prayed for him and I believe the Lord will heal him. Yesterday I was awoken with a strong impression from the Lord, that our church should fast and pray, and fight for that kid, because the Lord wants to Glorify His name. I asked Him for confirmation. Then I took a newspaper and on the first page of the newspaper was written: Fight sickness by fasting.

The Lord confirmed it very fast to me. So in our elders meeting today I will share it with my elders and then to the church, and all of us will fast and pray for that kid. So please, could you also pray with us for Him?

Montenegrians are heavy minded people and so proud and religious, but we know that when they see miracles, they will believe. And we are in such a situation that we realy need miracles from the Lord.

The next thing we want to do is a Conference for whole body of Christ in Montenegro.
So I spoke with other two pastors and we agreed to have it in Niksic on the 9th of December. Every christian in Montenegro will come and we shall worship together and have 3 meetings where we will teach our people about unity in the body of Christ. Please pray for this event.

A Request from the Novi Sad Christian Fellowship, Serbia

Daniel Kuranji, Pastor of the Novi Sad Christian Fellowship, writes the following:

We are hoping to start another church in another part of the town. We have been visiting families in their homes, helping with different needs they have, and as a result, there are a number of people that are coming to Alpha. For that, we are renting a facility in that part of the city and are grateful for interest of around 20 people that have been faithfully coming for weeks now. Pray that they will all be added to Gods family. Only He can touch the hearts of people.

We have been working with teenagers that are neglected, and we had special training for this a couple of weeks ago. We were encouraged to see how God is working in young people in other parts of the world. We hope that God will bless this ministry, give us good leaders, helpers, and give us fruit in this ministry.

We have been visiting the terminally ill, and God is opening many doors. Each day terminally ill have the chance to hear the Gospel. I have visited a 4 year old boy a few days ago. Please pray for him and his family, his name is Ogi (pictured above), he has kidney cancer and it now spread to lungs and he does not have much time left. It is so sad. Please pray that his family will come to Christ and know that they can have eternal life!

We have started special services a couple of Sundays in the month, we are encouraging people to bring their unsaved friends, and services are designed for the seekers. Pray that many will continue to come and respond to the Good News.

OCC boxes will start to arrive soon, and we will need His help in distributing, organising, reaching out to kids and their families.

Harvest for the Hungry Trip to Constanta, Romania

Lorraine Cooper (left) and myself (Sally Macpherson, right)are travelling to Constanta, Romania on Saturday 4th November to spend some time with Eurovangelism partners Traian and Elena Pascalau. We will be visiting the church, and also spending time with the Heart to Heart Old People's Project, and Project Romanian Rescue (the Street Children Outreach).

Please pray for us as we visit so many needy people to distribute food raised through the Harvest for the Hungry project. Please pray especially for our partners as they spend the winter meeting with these people, and for those who receive food as they battle through the coldest months of the year.

Gary Cox is visiting Albania at the same time (4th to 8th November) - these dates have changed from those initially reported in our Prayer Diary.

Thank you!

Politics in Bulgaria

We have recently received the following prayer request from Teddi Oprenov, our partner in Sofia, Bulgaria:

In the presidential elections last Sunday, we reelected the socialist president for a second term. However, his main rival who managed to collect almost 25% of the votes, is a man named Volen Siderov, the leader of a party called Attack who openly speaks against Gypsies, Turks and any ethnical minority people. He preaches hatred and fanatical nationalism. He had 1 in 4 people supporting him in those elections.

Being Baptists, we are part of the bigger protestant family of Christians in Bulgaria and therefore hated by this party too. 50% of our churches are Roma minority people, and to see that every fourth person hates them and would rather 'burn or kill' them is very bad. Please pray for the country of Bulgaria and for a spiritual awakening in this small South European nation.
